Demi Darkhart’s backstory:
“I started playing guitar and writing music when I was really young, but I have really been doing it for about the last 10 years pretty much since 2014. I’m originally from the Midwest, but I moved out to Las Vegas to start my band The Beast of Bailey Downs.”
What artist / bands inspire Demi Darkhart and his music:
“Artist’s that have inspired me are Falling in Reverse, Escape the Fate, influences of Yngwie Malmsteen, Jason Becker and also tons of different types of metal. Whether it’s death metal, black metal, or metal core, I love it all.”
His writing process / inspiration for his music:
“I’m inspired to write in many different ways. Sometimes I sit down with an instrument and write an entire song, sometimes I write it in the digital audio workstation. I’ll start with drums and get guitar riffs. Sometimes I just have the vocal melody and I write songs around it, it all depends. I get inspired in so many different ways. A lot of times movies inspire me, other music of course inspires me, comic books I read, history books I read, stuff like that. That’s what inspires me to create and write, a lot of real life situations inspire me, it just depends on how I’m feeling. A lot of my feeling can drive me to write.”
I love his songs “Welcome to Valhalla”, “Greek Fire” and “Attila the Gun”. Here is the inspiration and backstory behind these songs:
“Greek fire” It took me about 4 months to do that song. I wrote it and my friend Jacky Vincent who was in Falling in Reverse plays on it. He does the second guitar solo, but that whole thing was inspired obviously about thinking about you know what Greek fire is and just like battles and whatnot, and that’s what inspired that whole thing.”
Listen to “Greek Fire” on Spotify:
“Attila the Gun” I wrote as one of my first guitar solo songs when I got my solo deal, separate from The Beast of Bailey Downs. I did that with my friend Bryan Mogul, We did that a while back, it was fun.”
Listen to “Attila the Gun” on Spotify:
“And then “Welcome to Valhalla” it was just me trying to write like the prettiest thing that I’ve ever written. I just wanted it to sound really beautiful so that that’s where that came from. Just the whole wanting to sound beautiful, so I started writing like a keyboard part and then the guitar part on top of it with that really dreamy like effects on it, I like that one too.”

What he wants the audience to feel and experience at one of his live shows:
“They definitely get the feeling of all the emotion that I put out during a live performance. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m 100% giving every inch of my body and ounce of my soul to the music at the time that I’m performing.”
Which local artist would Demi Darkhart like to work with: “There’s a lot of them I’d like to work, but nobody right off the top of my head. I’m working with a lot of people, but I’m sure I’ll find someone to fill that.”
What his overall theme is for his music:
“For the most part the overall theme is feelings of hope, I’m trying to inspire people with a positive connection. Positivity would be the main thing though.”
What does the future hold for Demi Darkhart:
“Just keep doing what I’m doing. I’m very lucky to have a management company behind me for the past few years and I’m just inspired to write and write and write.”
What I love about Demi Darkhart’s music is how incredibly diverse he is. One minute he will have a balls to the walls metal song with a sick shredding guitar sound that just forces to listen to it at full blast, But then he will have the most beautiful melodic sound that you have ever heard that just makes you want to cry and contemplate your life choices, and I love that! Between incredible guitar playing, to his beautiful songwriting, he really is a one of a kind. I can’t wait to see what happens for the future of this renaissance man, Demi Darkhart.
His new song called “Never Giving In” is on Spotify now!
