Hello Rockstars!
I wanted to talk about a really awesome festival happening in March called “Nocturnal Ambitions Music Festival.”
Creator Las Vegas Musician Jeff Memoire’s goal with this festival I think is a pretty awesome one. With this festival he’s bringing together local acts from all over the place, making it an all inclusive festival with a wonderful sense of community and appreciation for the local scenes here in the United States.
It’s a festival for music lovers by a music lover.
I was lucky to be able to talk to Mr. Memoire about his background, love for music, what we can expect from this festival, and what he feels the plans for the future are with festivals in Las Vegas.
Enjoy!
VMS:
“Before we get into how your festival came into fruition, tell me about your backstory and beginnings.”
Jeff Memoire:
“I started my first band in 2010 with some friends at school and have been in the music scene ever since, even before that my family loved playing music in the house and enjoyed various different genres ranging from funk to top 40 to r&b to rock music. It has always been important and relevant in my life, I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it and I’m grateful for every opportunity i have to be involved in it!”
VMS:
“Who are your personal music influences that have helped shaped you as an artist.”
Jeff Memoire:
“I listen to most genres, but acts that have really shaped my personality and have had an emotional impact on me are; Alicia Keys, Linkin Park, Eminem, Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Architects, Circa Survive, J. Cole, Kanye West, SZA, Earth Wind & Fire, Journey, Polaris & 21 Pilots.”
VMS:
“Tell me about the Origins of The “Nocturnal Ambitions” Festival. What inspired you to start this festival.”
Jeff Memoire:
“It was mainly because I wanted to return the favor and have some of the bands we’ve made friends with touring over the years come through our city to show them a good time like they have for us so many times over the last 4 years. Another reason was because it has always been a dream of mine to throw my own festival with bands I handpicked! Community is always so important in the music scene, this was my way of giving back to it.”
VMS:
“You have an amazing lineup! What can we expect from the festival and tell me a bit about the bands that will be performing.”
Jeff Memoire:
“We have a ton of different genres playing this show, it is primarily metalcore acts but we have bands ranging from acoustic to pop-punk to deathcore. There will also be an after party featuring EDM & Hip Hop artists. This festival promises to fulfill any & all music lovers with quality acts. We’re having bands from Seattle, Portland, Northern & Southern California & Arizona. It’s going to be amazing seeing bands from all those music scenes making connections & bonds with each other.”

VMS:
“What have been your personal experiences in the Vegas Music Scene, good and bad.”
Jeff Memoire:
“Growing up in the Vegas music scene you find that it can be a tricky thing to navigate because the perception changes depending on who you work with. Luckily I’ve only had a few bad experiences, but working with promoters like Steven Goldberg & Patrick (Pulsar Presents) Trout reminds me that there are great people hosting/throwing shows out here in Vegas you just have to find them.”
VMS:
“I know it’s incredibly hard putting on a festival in a city like Las Vegas, but for you personally, what do you think are the things we need to work on in this city to get exposure to the local scene, (how we could improve).”
Jeff Memoire:
“It needs to start with having a great community and support system, it’s a tale as old as time that bands can be very selfish & narcissistic, but do that on stage. That’s the time to have an ego, to show your teeth and put on a phenomenal performance. Off the stage, bands need to be more inclusive & kind. As cheesy as that sounds I’ve only gotten all of my connections through being a professional/welcoming person, it’s very rare to see someone who’s the opposite really make a difference.”
VMS:
“What are your hopes for the Vegas Scene and the future of festivals.
What are your thoughts, personal goals for the future.”
Jeff Memoire:
“My hope for any music scene is to cultivate & have a true community behind it. No one can do any of this alone, it’s a team effort. My goals have always been the same since the beginning, I just want to play music with my best friends & somehow/hopefully make enough money off of it to do it full time. Big picture though, I want to cultivate a safe & happy environment for everyone that loves music. We need it now more than ever!”
