Hello Rockstars!
Welcome to a new article I will be doing from time to time called the The Top 5!
I have been obsessed with the overall concept of making top 5 lists (especially music ones!) after watching and reading the book “High Fidelity” by Nick Hornby, so today i’m going to start it off with “The Top 5 Song’s You Gotta Hear Right Fucking Now!!” (lmao) So let’s get to it!
“The Top 5 Song’s You Gotta Hear Right Fucking Now!!”*
(*Editor’s Note: My 1-5 is not a ranking of best to worst or anything like that, these are just my top 5 songs that I happen to vibe with this week)

1.Band: Kombat
Song: “Pogo”
Release Date: August 13th, 2024
Why it’s a Must Listen:
Kombat’s Self Titled Album, is a no holds barred punk rock experience. All of the songs are amazing but a standout track is their song “Pogo”. With their gritty guitar, commanding drums and a chorus that slaps you in the face, It’s an upbeat call to action to rock your face off, Mosh and overall make a fucking scene! The only downside is how short the song is, but maybe that’s the point, wanting the audience to long for more. I think this is a wonderful start to an already electric band. I can’t wait to see their next Adventure.

2. Artist: Maybe Katie
Song: “I’ll Be Okay”
Release Date: October 25th, 2024
Why it’s a Must Listen:
Maybe Katie is back with another beautiful and emotional track about loss, longing and love. Her lyrics are soulful, poignant and it guts me when she sings “I Wish I could Just Let Go”, while those soaring vocals echo the melancholy sadness of the situation. I really identify with this song for a million reasons, missing the old you while trying to find out who the new you is, and the conflict’s that come with that, all the while missing the people you love, it’s a beautifully constructed song by Maybe Katie and I cannot wait to hear more from this incredibly talented singer-songwriter.

3.Band: Coco Vaughn
Song: “Coming To Terms”
Release Date: June 7th, 2024
Why it’s a Must Listen:
Coco Vaughn knocks it out of the park with an incredibly explosive and emotional song about not being where you want to be in life and the frustrations that happen with that. With his biting lyrics with lines like “Things don’t get better, even when I try, my efforts are fruitless, they’ve led to my demise” and his raw and powerful vocals on this song, you can truly feel the pain and inner turmoil he’s going through. I love the emotional journey Coco Vaughn takes the listener on with this track, and I can’t wait to see the evolution of their journey and where they take us next.

4.Artist: Fayzone
Song: “Pink Lemonade”
Release Date: July 5th, 2024
Why it’s a Must Listen:
Fayzone is back with a fun and incredibly catchy song about love, and it sounds like the perfect woman or perfect chemistry at least. With his smooth vocals, an infectious chorus, the amazing low-fi grooving production, and beats that make me want to instantly get on the dancefloor, it’s a perfect song that I just simply can’t stop listening to. It truly is a wonderful summer jam that I’m still vibing with all the way into November lol. I just wish I would have heard it sooner! I think it’s also an interesting juxtaposition from his last song called “Don’t Want Love” where you could tell it was a little more grittier and seemed like he was in a darker place. with “Pink Lemonade” this feels like he is finally ready to love again, and overall this song feels the very necessary breath of fresh air our Artist truly needed. I can’t wait to hear where Fayzone will take the listener next, he is always trying something new and different and I know I will be waiting in anticipation.

5. Artist: XXPLICIT
Song:”4am”
Release Date: October 18th, 2024
Why it’s a Must Listen:
XXPLICIT comes back from an explosive album called “Blind Reality” with a single called “4am” that talks about addiction, dealing with your inner demons and being in a relationship that clearly is not good for you and your mental well-being. I always love how raw and honest his lyrics are, he is never afraid to own up to his struggles and that’s what I loved about his album “Blind Reality” in the first place. He keeps the momentum going with another great song with raw lyrics, a sick pulsating beat that matches the darkness in his mind, keeping the journey of self exploration going to another level. Every time I hear a new song by him, I can hear a new piece of the puzzle, and I’m proud to say I can’t wait to hear where the next manifestation of his journey will take us.
