VMS:
“When did you start writing and performing your music, what’s your backstory.”
Dizzy Livv:
“I’ve been making music since I was a little girl. I started off singing and I started to write my songs around the age of 7. I didn’t start rapping until my sophomore year of High School. Last year 2023 I dedicated my life and music to Christ and that’s when I became a Christian artist.”
VMS:
“What artist or bands inspire you and your sound.”
Dizzy Livv:
“I’m inspired by everything around me. I don’t have a specific artist or sound that influences me. Hearing a song or style I like can influence me to make something similar. However, I will say now that I make music that glorifies God the holy spirit leads me and stories in the bible inspire me.”
VMS:
“What’s your writing process and inspiration for your lyrics.”
Dizzy Livv:
“I find a beat I like and I freestyle to it and write down what fits best. I normally come up with the topic/theme of the song when I’m creating the chorus. My lyrics are inspired by God and his word. When breaking down my lyrics you will find a lot of scripture within them. P.S I write the best while driving lol I’m not sure why.”
VMS:
“I love your songs “Increase”, “On My Way ” and “What We Talkin”. What is the inspiration or story behind these songs.”
Dizzy Livv:
” “Increase” is based on 1 Corinthians 3:6-9. Around the time I created this song, I came across that scripture and decided to center the song around those verses. I knew at what point on the song I wanted a chant of the word “Increase” So I had my nephews come in and record it which they enjoyed and thought was cool.
“On My Way” was truly a different process for me. It was the 1st time I got to sit in and witness a beat being made shout out to @quixkmadeit on IG. The piano and organ reminded me and gave me a sense of genuine awe and appreciation for God. No matter where I’m at or what I’m going through I’m on my way to God and that’s exactly what the song is about.
“What We Talkin” is a collab I did with Key’ijah which is another Christian artist. I was in search of something that was both of our styles. It was the 1st time I rapped on a West Coast beat & the hook just came to me. Shortly after I went to LA to film the music video with her and it was amazing.”

VMS:
“Which local artist would you like to work with and why.”
Dizzy Livv:
“I want to work with IC Jonez because we both make music that glorifies God and he’s been in the game for such a long time I respect his craft.”
VMS:
“What’s your overall theme or message of your music.”
Dizzy Livv:
“My message is to let people know that God is the most important above all things. He is love and just how he changed me he can change you. My goal is to spread the word of God through my music. It’s meant to inspire and uplift people in a way that’s fun and exciting.”
VMS:
“Do you have a favorite song that you like to perform.”
Dizzy Livv:
“My favorite song always changes as my catalog grows but as of right now “What We Talkin” is my favorite to perform. It always gets the crowd engaged and hyped. After I get off stage people always tell me how it inspired them in a way or made them feel good.”
VMS:
“What does the future hold for Dizzy Livv.”
Dizzy Livv:
“Whatever is in God’s will for my life will be done. However, I want to perform out of state as well as get into selling merch and hosting in-person bible study events.”
VMS:
“What do you want your audience to feel and experience at one of your live shows.”
Dizzy Livv:
“I want that audience to feel on fire for God like I do. When I’m performing one of my sentimental songs I want them to relate and feel heard. I always pray that God can speak to someone through my music.”
Vegas Music Scene Thoughts:
I will say out the gate that personally I am not a Christian, but I do listen to all kinds of music, from all walks of life and I think it’s important to hear everyone’s story, even if it’s not my own path. And what I like about Dizzy Livv’s story is how positive her message is. She talks about love, forgiveness, and figuring out who you are, and always trying to become a better person, which those are such universal truths, that I feel we can all relate too. I like that she talks about how none of us are perfect, but that’s okay, redemption is another universal truth I know we all feel from time to time. I like her musical composition with infectious beats, that are incredibly well produced and fit the tone of her writing, especially in songs like “What We Talkin” and “Increase”.
What I appreciate about Dizzy Livv and all of the Artists and Bands I pick for Artist of the Week is how you all have found a wonderful and unique sound all while staying true to who you are. It’s hard in this world, to stay on the path, but I like that Dizzy Livv knows what she wants to accomplish and knows who she is, so it will be interesting to see where her future goes. We all need a little bit more positivity and love in this world and I hope that is something Dizzy Livv will never lose sight of.
